Traffic signs provide valuable information to drivers on every road as well as other road users.Rules are represented and kept in place to help you as a road user.These signs are there to maintain order and reduce accidents.Negligence on the roads could lead to major accidents.

What do the different traffic signs mean?

These signs are usually grouped into four main groups or sub categories. All signs differ from one another with more or less the same regulatory meaning. The signs consist of different shapes and colours that help you identify them as quick as possible during a drive, without any interruptions.

The four main categories are the following:

  1. Regulatory Signs: Control/Command/Prohibition/Reservation
  2. Warning Signs: Road Layout/Direction of Movement
  3. Guidance Signs: Location/Route Markers/Direction
  4. Temporary Signs: Command/Prohibition
